How To Enjoy

1. Wrap about 18" (45 cm) of floss around your fingers and pull it tight.
2. Tug and release—the floss will expand for better cleaning.
3. Gently slide the floss between your teeth. Curve it around each tooth and clean the area between tooth and gum with a gentle up-and-down motion.
4. Use a clean section of floss for each tooth.

1. Does Smart Floss® remove more plaque? Smart Floss® expands during use to create a larger surface area to disrupt plaque. The few minutes you spend flossing can be more productive when using Smart Floss.
2. Is Smart Floss® eco-friendly?  Yes! Smart Floss® is one of the most eco-friendly, effective dental flosses available:
   • Packaging: Plastic-free, made from FSC-certified paperboard, and fully recyclable.
   • Wax coating: Uses a natural blend of vegetable waxes and beeswax with cardamom oil—no petrochemical waxes or artificial flavors.
   • Floss material: Made from polyester fibers through a patented process that creates a softer, expanded floss, proven to remove up to 55% more plaque.
   • Why not silk or cotton? Silk requires heavy processing and involves treatment of silkworms, plus it can’t be made with the same effective properties as Smart Floss®. Cotton frays, breaks easily, can be harsh on gums, and is less effective at plaque removal.
3. What are the ingredients in Smart Floss®?  Smart Floss® is flavored naturally with cardamom essential oil and lightly coated with a blend of vegetable waxes and beeswax, including candelilla, carnauba, castor oil, and rice bran wax. It contains no genetically modified ingredients, common allergens, phthalates, soy, or silica. Plus, it’s dairy-free, gluten-free, and fluoride-free—perfect for sensitive users.
4. Does Smart Floss® contain potentially toxic PTFE or PFAS chemicals?  No. Dr. Tung’s Smart Floss® is free from PTFE—the material often linked to potential toxicity—and is not treated with PFOAS, PFAS, PFOS, APFO, or any fluorine-based surfactants. Independent tests show the amount of organic fluorine (an indicator of PFAS) in Smart Floss® is below detectable levels. Unlike PTFE floss, which slides easily but performs poorly in plaque removal, Smart Floss® delivers superior cleaning without these concerns.

End of Life

Please recycle the paperboard packaging. The floss itself should be disposed of with regular household waste as it is used.
